Master of Education in Curriculum Studies,
University of Helsinki, Finland

In August 2017, I travelled to the University of Helsinki in Finland, to take a two-week course offered through the University of Helsinki Summer School Program. The course was taught by faculty and staff from the Faculty of Educational Sciences, and examined the role of worldview and religion in public education.

My research in the Department of Curriculum Studies is focused on multicultural inclusion and culturally responsive education. I decided to take this course because the content was directly related to my research, and I felt that it would provide important perspective in my field of study.  Additionally, as a Saskatchewan Teacher, I was very interested in learning about the Finnish Education System.
